In June the Stone Cup Café hosts Alison Bozeman and her artwork on eco-crafted paper goods. Bozeman is owner of Bird Dog press, a collaborative design studio. Her work honors traditional craftsmanship and modern technology in harmony, while making a conscious commitment to handmade, personal communication. Look for it at www.birddogpress.com.

LYONS – The Lyons Clarifier Project is a community art collaborative effort inspired by the work of Cathy Rivers and Candace Shepard, who facilitated the colorful murals that shine out from the west wall of the visitors center. In the end, over 70 Lyons residents, young and old, participated in the making of the mural. Now the vision of Clarifier Project, in the developmental process for several years, is beginning to take shape.

The Sounds of Lyons two-day festival will be held on June 5 and 6. The festival will be held at 8 p.m. on June 5 at Rogers Hall on High Street; at 2 p.m. on June 6 at Lyons Community Church on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Main Street; and at 8 p.m. on June 6 at the Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass.

The High Street Concert Series presents bluegrass power trio Three Ring Circle, featuring dobro legend Rob Ickes, mandolinist Andy Leftwich, and on bass, Dave Pomeroy on Sunday, May 2. Opening for the evening will be special guests, the Celtic/Québécois trio of Sandra Wong, Yann Falquet and Chris Layer. This is an extraordinary line-up not to be missed.

LYONS – The Lyons Art Mentorship Program formed in September last year by Marie McCreery has moved forward over the winter to bring fun and interesting art project experiences to both adult art mentors and Lyons Middle/Senior High students.

The High Street Concert Series presents Sarah Siskind and Travis Book and Slipstream on Saturday, March 13th at Rogers Hall. Sarah Siskind is seen as one of today’s most eclectic songwriters with songs covered by artists such as Alison Krauss, whose rendition of “Simple Love” was nominated for Grammy in 2008.
