LYONS – According the International Center for Reiki Training, ICR, “Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying on hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.”
LYONS – There is a whole new taste going on at On the Rocks Southern Bistro, 228 Main St., as well as some new colors inside.
LYONS – LEGG, Lyons Economic Gardening Group, tries to maintain relationships with many Colorado resources that provide services in order to make them available to Colorado small businesses. One of those great resources is the Rocky Mountain MicroFinance Institute, RMMFI. The following is a summary of who it is and what it does.
DENVER – Do mummies get thirsty? Just in case they do Wynkoop Brewery is offering a special beer in honor of the arrival of the Denver Art Museum’s Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs exhibit. The exhibit opened June 29th and the beer is already flowing at the Wynkoop.
BOULDER – Suddenly our walkways have disappeared from view. A little trimming this spring seemed to be doing the trick but now that the heat is on the shrubs are starting to hang over in inconvenient places.
LYONS – The June social was cancelled due to the busy month in Lyons with Good Old Days and the Outdoor Games.
LYONS – Excitement is growing for the July 18 Centurion Bike Race that will start and finish in Lyons. This will be the cycling event of the year in Colorado and a Lyons Community Foundation team is handling race registration. We still need volunteers to join us – for every 25 LCF volunteers, Centurion donates $500 to the LCF. We already have enough volunteers for our first $500, but if we get 100 volunteers, LCF would end up with $2,000.
LONGMONT – The non-profit Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will be hosting a fun-filled event on Friday, September 10 to benefit the nearly 2,200 animals it treats each year. Wild Night for Wildlife will feature an open bar, buffet dinner, and a silent and a live auction.
LYONS – The fabulous Quarry Gals sang for the seniors at the Walter Self Housing Center in the community house. The performers snapped their fingers, moved and swayed with the music, and shared big smiles with the packed room of seniors. The audience members returned the broad smiles, and said that it was probably the best Friday musical program of the year.
