Sounds of Lyons: Adding an amazing dimension to Lyons

LYONS – The third annual Sounds of Lyons delivered a musical festival of sounds, with something to please everyone and provide a little stretch for the ears as well. Three days of happenings, which included the fusion of music making and art making, adds to the spreading reputation that Lyons is becoming a center of creative expression. In addition to the three evening programs there were three free programs: Music on Canvas, which exposed young children to the music of Beethoven while they painted; Music on the River, what’s not to like about a picnic by the river to the sounds of a live string quartet playing Schubert, Haydn, and Dvorak; and Music Espresso – well, the great Johan Sebastian Bach extolled the virtue of the edgy liquid by honoring it with a cantata in its very own name, so who could blame one for continuing such a time-honored tradition?
