LYONS – Moving three doors down from their original location to a newly renovated building took a little more time than expected. “I was overly optimistic about our opening,” said Greig Chesne, owner of the Barking Dog, which relocated to 431 Main St. “This building is 120 years old and we had to do a lot of work. It took longer than I thought it would” The coffee shop closed in March and just reopened on May 14.

LYONS – A friend of mine, Tim Oakes, and I were riding home on Y bus and Tim asked me, “Now that you’re no longer on the town board are you going to be writing your memoirs?” Frankly I didn’t know if he was joking or only half joking. I took it as a half joke/half suggestion and decided to see if the readers of the Redstone Review might enjoy a look back. I hope so. Here goes

LYONS – U.S. Rep. Jared Polis (D) talked to residents in Lyons after having lunch with the town board trustees and some of the town staff on April 9 at the Stone Cup coffee shop on the corner of Fifth Avenue and High Street.

LYONS – Lyons will face new challenges and take a new direction when the trustees and former and current mayor take their seats on the town board after they are sworn in on April 19.
