LYONS – Seven toddlers, all engaged in activity, are obviously thrilled to be part of the new Lyons Community Montessori Toddler program. On Sept. 6 this toddler program at the parsonage of Lyons Community Church on Main Street opened up. A long time in coming, the toddler program is part of Lyons Community Montessori that opened in January of 2005.

LYONS – Parents are often confused and dismayed when their child has an incredible memory for details of an event that happen three years ago, but can’t remember names or dates.

Perhaps the child has trouble reading all the words on the page so he or she proceeds to make up an incredible story while starring at the words in the book which have nothing to do with the story the child is telling. For dyslexics words often look alike such as was and saw, California and Columbia. They transpose letters and see words as symbols not as letters. They look at patterns, not at individual letters.
