LYONS–Six Lyons Middle/Senior High School Band students won seats this year in University of Colorado Honor Bands and performed to great appreciation under the direction of Dr. Gary Green at Macky Auditorium at CU in Boulder on Feb 27.

March Networking Social

The March Chamber of Commerce social will be held on Friday, March 19, and will be sponsored by Experience, llc-Linette DeSano; Lyons Community Montessori School-Laurie Kennedy; Freeman Myre-Arn Hayden; and and Bank of Commerce Mortgage-Scott Young. It will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 429 Main St. Mix and mingle with fellow business men and women and see Experience’s new location as well as Montessori’s expansion. LYONS – The only private school in Lyons is enjoying its recent expansion. The new preschool classroom is directly next to the original classroom on Main Street. The school added 1,000 square feet to its existing class room in back of what used to be Nick Angelo Fine Arts. Nick Angelo Fine Arts has moved to 4089 Ute Hwy., across from the “Welcome to Lyons” sign. Nick Angelo Fine Arts is owned and operated by Nick Angelo, a twice-former mayor of Lyons.

LYONS – It has been a long cold winter in Lyons, but things are looking up. The orange cones and barrels are finally gone along with the mud and the piles of dirt on the side streets and all the heavy equipment. The new sidewalks are in with sandstone accents and the new street lights create a wonderful soft light all over the downtown.

LYONS – Boulder County Aging Services is sad to see Marie McCreery retire after more than 13 years of service. McCreery was the Aging Resources Consultant but before that she was the Community Care Coordinator which was basically the same job at Aging Services. Her last day will be March 4.
