PUEBLO – The magnitude of the oil-spill disaster currently unfolding along the eastern U.S. Gulf Coast is quite literally beyond calculation.

Life for the people of that region has been changed, if not forever, then for the foreseeable future. Loss of wildlife, loss of jobs, loss of boats, businesses and hope have mounted steadily with every barrel of oil that surges from beneath the ocean floor into the water currents of the Gulf.

PUEBLO – In a recent TV news report about the new Arizona law on immigration, the reporter interviewed a family of five that was packing up to leave that state to avoid being arrested.

I’m a political independent, and always have been, but I’ve known quite a few Republicans and Democrats in my time, and I’ve argued with both about various policies and positions their parties have championed, about legislation their parties have proposed and gotten signed into law, and about executive orders and other decisions presidents from their parties have made throughout the years.

PUEBLO – Glenn Beck. Need I say more? Maybe I should. The Fox News commentator is every bit the equal of Rush Limbaugh when it comes to ranting about Barack Obama in the style that, no doubt, will one day ensure their induction into the Propagandist Hall of Fame.
