In June the Stone Cup Café hosts Alison Bozeman and her artwork on eco-crafted paper goods. Bozeman is owner of Bird Dog press, a collaborative design studio. Sounds of Lyons founder and amazing violinist MinTze Wu took over the stage and played world-class music at the Sunday evening Sounds of Lyons concert in the Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass earlier this month on June 6. The music was Bach’s Second Partita, including the 15-minute Chaconne, which Wu played barefoot, and with a lively fervor that revealed Bach’s secret, dancing heart.

LYONS – Summer is music time at Planet Bluegrass, with many events for many people. Telluride Bluegrass Festival (June 17 to 10) attracts 10,000 attendees to the box-canyon town of Telluride.

LYONS – The Lyons Clarifier Project is a community art collaborative effort inspired by the work of Cathy Rivers and Candace Shepard, who facilitated the colorful murals that shine out from the west wall of the visitors center. In the end, over 70 Lyons residents, young and old, participated in the making of the mural. Now the vision of Clarifier Project, in the developmental process for several years, is beginning to take shape.

The Sounds of Lyons two-day festival will be held on June 5 and 6. The festival will be held at 8 p.m. on June 5 at Rogers Hall on High Street; at 2 p.m. on June 6 at Lyons Community Church on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Main Street; and at 8 p.m. on June 6 at the Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass.
