Obituary: The Rev. Carol Anne Robb Sept. 6, 1948 – May 26, 2010
Carol Anne Robb of Azusa, California passed away May 26, 2010 following a lengthy illness. She was 61.
She was born Sept. 6, 1948 in Springfield, Illinois to John Raymond and Stella Mae (McGovern) Robb. She lived in Illinois until June 10, 1958 when she moved to Boulder at age 9 and then to Lyons, Colorado in 1964. She then graduated from Lyons High School in 1966. She received an Associate of Arts Degree in History and Literature from Mesa College, Grand Junction, Colorado in 1968; graduated from the Colorado Institute for Municipal Clerks, University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado in 1991; attended the University of Denver, Denver, Colorado studying Business Administration from 1990-1992; graduated from California State University – Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 1999; and attended Emmanuel Bible College, Arcadia, California completing a ministerial course of study.
She worked in municipal government 22 years, including three years as Town Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Lyons, Colorado and over 17 years as City Clerk for the City of San Marino, California. She held a Master Municipal Clerk Designation.
She was ordained an elder in the Church of the Nazarene on June 9, 2006 and served as Associate Pastor at Temple City Church of the Nazarene in Temple City, California. Prior to her ordination, she served as Church Board Secretary of the Temple City Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, James “Mike” Robb, of Lyons, Colorado, and a nephew, John Raymond Robb II of Firestone, Colorado. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda (and Andrew) Meth of San Diego, California; two grandsons, Aaron and Austin Meth of San Diego, California; two brothers Tom (and Betty) Robb of Greeley, Colorado and Fred (and Charlotte) Robb of Firestone, Colorado; and two sisters, Vickie Robb of Centennial, Colorado and Penny Letwin of San Diego, California; one nephew, Frederick Robb Of Lyons, Colorado; and one niece, Anna and Randal Swanson of Greeley, Colorado and their children Connor, Kiana, and Liam.
Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, Colorado 80501. Funeral Service will be Sat. June 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Stone Congregational Church, Lyons, Colorado. Burial at Lyons, Colorado Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sat. June 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Temple City Church of the Nazarene, 9953 Las Tunas Dr., Temple City, California 91780.
