Matsuri is offering some brand new recipes
Staff Reports
The chefs at Sushi Matsuri, owned and operated by Yumi and Taka Sueyoshi on Main Street in Lyons, are always coming up with new and exciting recipes for people to try.
Yumi describes the experience to tasting spicy food at Matsuri. “The first one is a special sushi called Heart Attack,” said Yumi. “There are three stages of spiciness. In the first stage you will enjoy just the hint of spice, the flavor will linger but not overpower the variety of flavors. The second stage is for people who eat spicy food all the time and want a little kick, nothing too rambunctious just pure flavor. Then there is the third stage which we cannot be responsible for. This stage will pack a punch but still not overpower the flavor of the food. When you eat the whole item of the third stage, you will get a free ice cream to sooth your palate.”
Taka and Yumi want to thank the people of Lyons for their support during the difficult times that they had this winter with the road work, the cold weather, Yumi’s accident and Taka’s losing his father in Japan. “We really appreciate your support and business,” said Yumi. “We got through the tough slow winter and we are already feeling that people are ready for fun and a wonderful summer, now that more people are coming into town and our regular wonderful customers are also enjoying this the remodeled Main Street and the spring season.”
Yumi added that they are grateful for everyone’s patience when they get crowded at the restaurant and they are short-staffed. “We are still running the restaurant with limited staff to recover from the winter and we really appreciate your patience when we get packed all of the sudden and it is very unpredictable everyday but we are trying our best to keep our customers as happy as possible,” she said.
