Chamber news for June
Redstone Review
LYONS – The May chamber social was sponsored by the Barking Dog, Buttercream Bakery, Lyons ReRuns, Balcony Office Suites, and Sounds of Lyons. The social gave these businesses a chance to highlight their new construction and showcase their products and services. Thanks to all of you.
New chamber members joining in May are Mountain States Health Products (Sharon Lynn); Courtyard by Marriott (Casey Wadlow and Ramona Cordova); Performance Sports Massage (Sally McJoynt Pillsbury); and Beth Radich with an individual membership. Three welcome baskets were awarded to Kelley Taylor and Toby Russell; John Hunter; and Jerry and Heather Santesteban.
The chamber will operate the Beer Garden at Good Old Days on June 25, 26 and 27 (clean-up), and staffing it is a responsibility we all share. This is a very important fundraiser for the chamber. Duties include pouring beer, checking IDs, watching the gate, keeping the hospitality tent tidy, and other tasks. Call 303-823-5215, or email admin@lyons-colorado.com to volunteer or get your questions answered.
Very big thanks to all the chamber members who volunteered during Lyons Outdoor Games. They braved the rain and cold to staff three zero waste stations as well as the LACC information booth in Sandstone Park. Volunteers include: Dan Bruckner, A Spice of Life Catering; Carol Bouchard, Flappy’s Print Shop; John Burke, Public Media Travel; JJ Booksch-Asnicar, certified massage therapist; Christy Crosser, C2 Strategies and Lyons Dental; Janice Gavan, VisAbility public radio products; Chuck Keim, Collins Engineers; Steve Kleiner, Financial Frontiers; John O’Brien, Consulting; Martina Mason, Pilates of Lyons; Jayne Rhode, Bank of the West; Casey Wadlow, Marriott, Longmont; Casey Whisenhunt, Valley Bank & Trust.
Special thanks go also to two teenagers who also helped to manage zero waste stations: Kate Gilson (daughter of chamber member Lora Gilson, The Lyons Recorder) Stephanie Schooler (daughter of chamber members Bob and Tina Schooler, On the Rocks Southern Bistro).
The June social was canceled due to lack of participation and the town has so many other events going on, the board decided to just wait until July to have the next social. So in July the Lyons Area Chamber of Commerce Networking Social will be held Wednesday July 14, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Stone Cup, 442 High St. Co-sponsors are the Stone Cup, Mayama Movement Studio, Ohm Salon and Gallery, the Lyons Outdoor Market with Matt DePofi and Susan McCausland, Ralston Antiques, and the White Lion. Come mix and mingle with your fellow business owners.
