Town finance director leaves
LYONS – Janice Saeger, formerly Lyons finance director, recently accepted a position as the financial analyst for the recreation department at the City of Fort Collins. She started her new position on April 5. Her last day working for the City of Lyons was April 2. Saeger was the financial director in Lyons for nearly 17 years. The town has advertised her position and will begin to interview candidates soon. “I will miss the people that I work with and I will miss LaVern,” said Saeger. The recreation department in Fort Collins has a staff of 43 people and a budget bigger than the town of Lyons which is over $6 million. The Fort Collins Parks, Recreation and Cultural Department has a staff of over 400 people and it includes running the Lincoln Center for cultural activities. “It is much different in Fort Collins. They really place a high value on employees and they can offer more benefits here,” she said.
She worked as a payroll manager for Boulder County for seven years before starting work in Lyons and before that she attended Kent State University.

Computer Nurse
LYONS – Don’t need a “doctor” to repair your computer? But you’re looking for a “nurse” to help you just figure it out? Kathleen Spring has helped a few seniors in Lyons to figure out their word processing program, to set up a Facebook or email account, to download photographs, and more. Why pay $75/hour for a doctor, when you can get a nurse for $25? Call Spring to see if she can help you get control of your computer. She is patient and friendly, and experienced at giving simple, clear how-to advice. She can sit with you in your home at your computer and answer your questions, give you some tips on being more efficient every day, fine tune programs, or help you understand what you can do on the internet. New March customers pay $20/hr. for her first visit. Call 303-823-0997.
