Letter to the editor: A thank you party for the wonderful Lyons people
Dear Lyons people,
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for all of your help, support and encouragement during the hardest time of our lives. During the car accident, when my car was hit and when I was suffering in the ambulance, I thought I was going to die because of the hole in my lung; I just cannot believe that I am now walking, talking, and hugging all the wonderful people around me. I just thank God for my life and sending me all those wonderful people who have sent us cards, flowers, gifts, and donations of money. We couldn’t have gotten through this difficult time without your help like this.
Because the Lyons slow business winter time has started and the construction, we really needed to cut down the labor cost, but I couldn’t work for almost three and half months and Taka was just devastated, but we were blessed with all these wonderful local customers who love our restaurant gave us so many encouraging words, some good ideas, extra tips and donations. You were all just so thoughtful and sweet and we realized so strongly again that we made the right choice to open our restaurant in Lyons. We love Lyons.
The lady who hit me didn’t plead guilty on the first court day and we might have to go through a trial. It has been a tough year because so many things happened and we are experiencing these for the very first time in our life and we are scared, worried, and didn’t know what to do sometimes–but God always sends us somebody who can help us or guide us in the right direction.
Thank you so much for all the encouragement when Taka’s father in Japan passed away on February 20th and he went back to Japan for ten days so that we had to close our restaurant. Taka was really glad that he went and he is doing okay.
We want to thank the people of Lyons who helped and supported us during this difficult time so we are putting together a party with some food and our special sushi dishes for people to enjoy from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 28 at our restaurant, Sushi Matsuri at 432 Main St. The food will be free buffet and we will have a cash bar.
Considering what keeps happening to us, we are doing really well and we are really happy. That is just because all these Lyons local people are so nice and we feel that we are not alone. Thank you so much.
Tons of love, kisses and hugs from Taka, Yumi and Rio Sueyoshi.
