LYONS – Wow is the only word that can describe the overwhelming results of the Student Activist’s coat, hat, scarf and mitten drive. The tremendous support shown by the community was simply astounding.
Winter wear filled the basement of the Lyons Community Church where Student Activist members, along with staff from the Lyons Community Food Bank, sorted the items collected. At every location the collection boxes were filled to the brim with fabulous clothes to be distributed. These clothes will be handed out by the Lyons Community Food Bank throughout the upcoming snowy months.
The Student Activists would like to thank not only everyone in the community for their overwhelming support of this endeavor, but also the many sites who allowed clothes to be collected on their premises including: Lyons Middle/Senior High School, Steamboat Mountain Foods, Lyons Vet Clinic, Lyons Community Montessori, Food and Flicks Restaurant, and the Lyons Community Church.
Once again the Student Activists would like to extend a huge thanks to the community for the wonderful support they have shown for all of their projects. Their efforts to improve their community would not be able to succeed without the continued support of the community. Thank you for your support.
Maddie Doerning is in the 10th grade at Lyons Middle/Senior High School and she is a student activist.
