As the father of a beautiful young lady we'll be sending off to college within the year, I especially appreciate this latest article. And before I go any further, I certainly try to do my part to teach our son and any others--of all ages--in all situations--to treat all people with respect regardless of sex, race, age, or any other perceived (or construed) differences. Suffice it to say that while I try to be forgiving as well, I've found the Golden Rule is a good rule for us all to live by. As another angle on your story, I was disappointed to witness what ruthless and vindictive behavior middle age girls are capable of. I've met other Lyons parents that have been equally disturbed by this destructive behavior. So I wouldn't want to take anything away from your wonderful article but yet there's a "dark side" within the girls' community that many don't know about or ignore. I have done my part to get school administrators to take a more proactive stance to prevent this behavior but more people need to know about it.
