Thanks for your wonderful article - very insightful, respectful, level-headed, and very useful for teaching parents and teachers alike.
I just wish that it could be re-printed in either the Gazette or the Colorado Springs Independent, so that more of my fellow senator's constituents could have ready access to it, not just the few of us who regularly keep tabs on him. I will forward a link to this article to all those whom I think will benefit.

Natalie,

I have appreciated many of your articles in the past several years. As the father of a beautiful young lady we'll be sending off to college within the year, I especially appreciate this latest article.

And before I go any further, I certainly try to do my part to teach our son and any others--of all ages--in all situations--to treat all people with respect regardless of sex, race, age, or any other perceived (or construed) differences. Suffice it to say that while I try to be forgiving as well, I've found the Golden Rule is a good rule for us all to live by.

As another angle on your story, I was disappointed to witness what ruthless and vindictive behavior middle age girls are capable of. I've met other Lyons parents that have been equally disturbed by this destructive behavior. So I wouldn't want to take anything away from your wonderful article but yet there's a "dark side" within the girls' community that many don't know about or ignore. I have done my part to get school administrators to take a more proactive stance to prevent this behavior but more people need to know about it.

Thanks again for your great article and I look forward to many more from you.
