LYONS – It has been a long cold winter in Lyons, but things are looking up. The orange cones and barrels are finally gone along with the mud and the piles of dirt on the side streets and all the heavy equipment. The new sidewalks are in with sandstone accents and the new street lights create a wonderful soft light all over the downtown.

LYONS – Boulder County Aging Services is sad to see Marie McCreery retire after more than 13 years of service. McCreery was the Aging Resources Consultant but before that she was the Community Care Coordinator which was basically the same job at Aging Services. Her last day will be March 4.

LYONS – I would like to start out by saying the Lyons Chamber Social for February has been changed and the information has gone out in print incorrectly. The Lyons Chamber Social will be at the Oskar Blues Party Barn on Thursday February 25 at 5:30 p.m. It will be hosted by Bank of the West. Please help spread the word about the day and place. LYONS – The Town of Lyons, working with Colorado State University design students and professor Mike Tupa, professor of landscape architect at CSU, and with the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, hosted an open house on February 10 to solicit discussion regarding the possible future expansion of the Lyons Library.

PUEBLO – Rush Limbaugh, that paragon of poison-tipped propaganda, may soon become the basis for an article in the Harvard Law Review, as well as for the next landmark libel suit in the United States.

LYONS – Linette DeSano will open an eclectic boutique called Experience at 429 Main St. on March 2. DeSano said she is very excited to open the boutique at the newly remodeled building on Main. Arn Hayden and Scott Young, both Lyons businessmen, own the building.
